Can you make money with FPV drone?

Absolutely!

I took my passion for FPV drones and incorporated it into my business only after I felt complete control over the drone. I am a photographer who has been shooting promotional videos for businesses for many years, building trust with numerous clients. Therefore, I felt comfortable starting in a place where my connection with the business owner was built on trust.

I approached the owner of a large display hall where I knew I had a safe space to fly and offered my services. I created a stunning and very challenging video of a single flight. My heart stopped with every maneuver...

After the first video, I added FPV services as a regular product in my business and created more and more videos for my clients.

How much does an FPV drone cost?

The cost of an FPV (First Person View) drone can vary widely depending on various factors, including the type of drone, its features, and the brand. Generally, you can find FPV drones in a price range from around $100 to several hundred dollars or more. High-end or custom-built FPV drones with advanced features and components can cost over $1,000.

It's important to note that the cost doesn't only include the drone itself; additional expenses may include a controller, FPV goggles, batteries, a charger, and other accessories. Customization and upgrades can also contribute to the overall cost. Beginners might opt for ready-to-fly (RTF) packages that include most of the necessary components, while experienced enthusiasts often prefer building their own drones, allowing for greater customization.

Prices may change over time, and it's advisable to check current market prices and consider your specific needs and preferences when deciding on an FPV drone.

How to begin?

I highly recommend first purchasing the controller, with which you can practice on your computer using the simulator. It will take time until you reach a skill level good enough to start flying for real in an open area. As the second step, get the goggles and a less expensive model of a drone to begin practicing outdoors.

Is FPV drone difficult?

I can tell you about myself, at the beginning of my journey and in the first stage, after deciding to learn to fly FPV drones, I discovered that this field requires serious skill.

For many years, I flew DJI drones, which are very easy to operate compared to FPV drones, and the most significant difference was that DJI drones are programmed with numerous safety mechanisms and use GPS. This allows the pilot to let go of the controls, and the drone will hover in place. They have sensors preventing collisions, options for object tracking, and are generally resilient in challenging weather conditions.

An FPV drone is built completely differently, without GPS, sensors, and the pilot must have control of the drone from takeoff to landing. It requires developing skill and sensitivity in the fingers. Therefore, it is crucial and never to give up on this stage, and it is essential to practice repeatedly on a computer simulator until the brain and hands understand the action.

I trained for 3 months on a computer simulator, experienced frustration, headaches, and despite my progress on the computer, the first time I flew a real FPV drone almost ended in disaster (for the drone).

It is important to do the initial training in an open and spacious area... In short, the beginning is challenging, but the continuation is very rewarding
